How to Look Fab When It’s Freezing Cold-#WinterChic #Outfitinspo…. The Look #34

Ever since the New Year, it’s been absolutely freezing in NYC!!! With temperatures as low as 10 degrees and major snow on the ground , it doesn’t leave much inspiration for even leaving the house unless absolutely necessary, but still….the show (& life & work) must go on!

Currently as we are heading into the second week of the year, it’s “warming up” to the 30’s and 40’s which is much more manageable….but still….for someone who spent so many years in sunny California, it takes a bit of adjusting to get used to getting dressed on these super cold days.

Here is my un-official guide to looking stylish in the lower digits, all in styles from the splurge-worthy to the steal¬†ūüôā

THE COAT

I’ve never been a big fan of puffy coats and have always steered towards faux furs in fun, bright colors…..but when the temps really drop you’ll want to wrap yourself up in anything that resembles your warmest duvet comforter….here’s some chic alternatives in different price points:

1.Bordeaux down puffer/ SAM $575   2.Gold puffer/ Add Down   3. Pink cold night puffer/ Lovers & Friends $178    4.Red  X Revolve Belted Puffer Lovers & Friends $101  5.Lilac puffer bomber/ Lioness $100     6.Leopard Print Puffer/ ASOS $34 on sale!

THE SWEATER

You can never go wrong with a great sweater and this season there are so many cute ones to choose from….and many of them are also on sale….a win/ win!

1.Fuchsia boss woman top/ Lovers & Friends $168   2. Grey ruffle sweater/ English Factory $63 on sale!     3.Pink cold shoulder sweater/ Glamorous $60   4.Blue Tie Sleeve sweater / JOA $52    5.Lilac sweater/ ASOS $45 on sale!

THE BOOTS

I must admit that I have never purchased snow boots before, unless you count the ones I had when I was about 9 years old…..Anyway, it didn’t snow much last year and that was our first winter since moving to the east coast. But this year I do see the importance of having a great pair of boots to beat the elements plus you can still look chic doing it….there’s nothing like ruining your fave pair of boots and getting your feet wet in the slushy street corners of NYC! Not fun!

1.shearling trimmed booties/ Alexander McQueen $710 on sale!     2. tan wedge holiday booties/ Sorel $295    3. park city short wedge booties/ Sorel $300   4. tall snow boots/ Blondo $162 on sale!   5. ruffled boots/ J/Slides $67 on sale!     6. faux fur trim boots/ Madden Girl $52 on sale!

Happy Winter!

Zoe

“Red Is The New Black”….the color you need this fall season- The Look #29

Hello & Happy Weekend! Hope everyone is having a great time so far….

Wanted to write about one of fall’s hottest color stories & also one of my personal favorites….the color RED

Red is the color of LOVE & GOOD FORTUNE….it is also associated with PASSION & DETERMINATION, but currently it’s the strongest color for the fall/ winter season that can be worn as a HEAD TO TOE LOOK or simply as a STAND OUT PIECE or BOLD ACCESSORY.

Here is some inspiration for wearing red this fall…I love how there are so many shades that can mixed and matched from traditional “apple red” to “burnt wine”.

Empower your self with the color red…..Shop the Look…..most styles are under $100

The Look You Need Now: Transition Into Fall with Studs & Dark Floral Prints-“The Look #28”

We just got back from a quick trip to Los Angeles & since the weather is still so warm here in New York City I’m still wearing all my favorite summer dresses on repeat. But with September coming up & right around the corner, new fall items have been on my mind.

Sometimes a few new key pieces can be added in to blend with your summer wardrobe & give you a head start on the fall season.

Here are some of my favorite new items for fall/ transition in prices ranging from “the splurge to the steal” :

TRANSITION-INTO-FALL

  1. The Embellished MOTO Jacket (throw it over your summer dresses at night when it gets a little chilly now & wear for a cool daytime look for fall)
  2. STUDDED Booties (fall is always a great time for new boots, but with all the cool new styles out now, who can wait till then? Pair these with bare legs and a skirt for now & anything else for later)
  3. DENIM MINI: the perfect transition piece to wear now and later that ultimately goes with everything
  4. HANDBAG with Hardware (a “wear everywhere” bag for an extra edge that takes you from a daytime look to girls night out)
  5. The Dark Floral Print Top (looks great with denim shorts or a skirt & sandals now, then pair with skinny or distressed jeans & boots for fall)

Can you tell which ones are “the splurge” & which ones are “the steal” ?

In case you‚Äôre following me on INSTAGRAM ‚Äď then you know how crazy I am about faux fur COATS. Also super into the color PINK lately….. Walking around NYC in the winter definitely calls for bundling up in cozy layers before you hit the streets for some new adventures. Here I am wearing my current NYC uniform of ripped jeans, suede booties, new fringe trim handbag & a faux fur coat layered over a ruffled sweater.

The Look # 15-Faux Fur & Ruffles- Winter Chic

Winter is here! And it’s so cold out! I’m spending my first winter in ages in NYC and it’s a bit of a shock to the system after so many years in sunny California. But still, it can be fun to bundle up when the temperatures drop. The super cold weather is no an excuse to stop looking cute, but still it can be a bit of a challenge at times.

This winter season I’m loving cozy faux fur jackets and the cutest sweaters with ruffles and lace-up details paired with denim and fun booties. There’s so much cute stuff out there in the stores right now…. Also, why not add some unexpected dashes of color to your winter outfits? Too much black & grey will leave you feeling drab, so throw in some shots of bold color with your neutrals to instantly lift up your mood. Then pile on chic layers and top off with your scarf, hat, gloves & a cool statement bag & you’re good to go…..

Here’s some inspiration to create your own winter casual look that will keep you feeling chic & warm….
