Casual Chic- Black, White & Blue in Brooklyn

THE NEW T-SHIRT, JEANS & LACE TREND

Sometimes it’s just fun to keep it simple & throw on a WHITE T-SHIRT & JEANS. This is one of my favorite and most comfortable outfits to wear that you can go back to time & time again. But of course you don’t want to wear just any old T-shirt or any old jeans, it’s got to be something that flatters & makes you feel good! I’m loving the “LACY CAMISOLE over a T-shirt” look, but sometimes it can get a bit tricky to pull off. This top is so simple and cute & I love the way the little CROPPED CAMI is built in for a seamless look. Also loving long NECKLACES & these simple medium wash JEANS that are so affordable.

I wore this ZARA top & jeans with METALLIC GOLD accessories, a FAUX FUR MOTO JACKET & suede BOOTS for a lunch date in Brooklyn. This is a fun & casual daytime look….just add some rocker-style accessories for an edgier look or dress it up with heels and a blazer for a more ladylike & sophisticated vibe.

PINK FAUX FUR IN THE CITY

In case you’re following me on INSTAGRAM – then you know how crazy I am about faux fur COATS. Also super into the color PINK lately….. Walking around NYC in the winter definitely calls for bundling up in cozy layers before you hit the streets for some new adventures. Here I am wearing my current NYC uniform of ripped jeans, suede booties, new fringe trim handbag & a faux fur coat layered over a ruffled sweater.

HOW TO START WEARING THE NEW SPRING TRENDS IN WINTER…

Lately, I’ve been dreaming about the upcoming spring summer season & finding ways to start adding in the new style trends into my current winter look. I’ve been loving all things PINK and RUFFLED with METALLIC accessories, pastel hued FAUX FUR & bold EMBROIDERIES. It’s also fun to play with different fabric textures & SATIN is definitely set to replace fall’s VELVET looks this spring.

You can wear SATIN & RUFFLES for day & mix with RIPPED DENIM & boots, or dress it up for night time with heels and bold accessories. Speaking about accessories…it’s a fun way to get a jump on the spring summer trends a little bit early.

I wore this ZARA faux fur coat with a TOPSHOP satin ruffle top (on sale!), my favorite J BRAND ripped jeans & new TOPSHOP metallic booties (on sale!) & embroidered handbag. This is such a fun & affordable look!

Stepping into January with optimism & thinking about bright & happy days……the best is yet to come…… Happy 2017

Shades of Pink for SS17-The Look #16

The Spring Summer season is right around the corner and it’s always fun to dream about what you will be wearing once it’s warm outside when it’s actually freezing cold and you’re bundling up in coats & layers every day. There are lots of different trends emerging for Spring/ Summer but one of the standout themes has been a feminine romantic look with a FOCUS on the color PINK.

Pink is the color of LOVE & is associated with OPTIMISM, ROMANCE & PLAYFULNESS. Kind of what we all need right now with everything that’s going on in the world…. It’s always a good idea to think positively and focus on what’s good in your life & wearing certain colors can really lift your mood and create a sense of fun!

Here are some of my new favorite PINK items for the Spring season. Some could be worn now & some later….I’m especially loving the soft shades of DUSTY ROSE & BALLERINA PINK and all the RUFFLES, flowing CHIFFON fabrics & CUT-OUT details.

Happy New Year Babes! I hope you are all excited about 2017…..I know I’m excited for this new beginning and the chance to start over again….I don’t know if I really believe in New Year’s resolutions though….I feel like the beginning of the year is just a good time to asses everything you’ve accomplished and to plan ahead for the goals you want to achieve going forward.

One thing I’ve learned is that setting goals is fun, but actually working towards your goals takes determination & commitment. You really have to decide what you want to do & then just go ahead and really do it. Do the work. Take the daily steps that you need to do to move towards your goal. And believe in yourself! Because at the end of the day it really is about the daily journey and not the end result. It’s really all about the person that you become while you are on that journey….

Winter is here! And it’s so cold out! I’m spending my first winter in ages in NYC and it’s a bit of a shock to the system after so many years in sunny California. But still, it can be fun to bundle up when the temperatures drop. The super cold weather is no an excuse to stop looking cute, but still it can be a bit of a challenge at times.

This winter season I’m loving cozy faux fur jackets and the cutest sweaters with ruffles and lace-up details paired with denim and fun booties. There’s so much cute stuff out there in the stores right now…. Also, why not add some unexpected dashes of color to your winter outfits? Too much black & grey will leave you feeling drab, so throw in some shots of bold color with your neutrals to instantly lift up your mood. Then pile on chic layers and top off with your scarf, hat, gloves & a cool statement bag & you’re good to go…..

Winter White, Lace & Ripped Denim

What are your favorite go-to looks?

Lately, I’ve been wearing different faux-fur jackets with ripped denim skinny jeans, a feminine blouse (hopefully with lots of ruffles) & booties. It’s becoming a sort of winter uniform for my casual days here in NYC. But now that winter is here it can be a challenge not to wear too much black clothing all the time. It’s fun to mix things up in the colder months with some pops of color or something unexpected like a white coat.

I wore this vintage Juicy Couture faux fur jacket with a Style Mafia lace trim off the shoulder top, J Brand ripped denim & black suede booties & the handbag is from Betsey Johnson.

Stepping into December & twinning with my sweet doggie Louise! Have been getting excited about the holidays, some new projects I’ve been working on and all that’s to come in 2017.
