Vintage Sweatshirt & Denim in Brooklyn

rockpapersequins_def_leppard_look6696

I always seem to sway between romantic & rock n’ roll inspired looks, sometimes mixing the two depending on my mood. But There’s something about waking up in New York City that makes you want to dress up a little bit tougher and today I was feeling in that kinda mood. I stepped out in this vintage outfit for coffee and a casual day walking around Brooklyn….

I wore this vintage Def Leppard sweatshirt layered over a Splendid tee with my Zara splattered skinny jeans & Nasty Gal faux fur jacket & added black suede Sam Edelman boots, my hot pink suede Monserat de Luca fringe bag and Prada sunnies.

I can never seem to get enough of denim, boots & faux fur jackets this fall season and I like how these can be either dressed up or down depending on your mood or occasion.

I hope you had a great weekend!

XO,

Zoe

Rose Bouquet Print Dress & Moto Jacket

img_6600

I’ve been loving wine, berry & pink tones this season. They are the perfect colors to wear now to brighten up your wardrobe while still feeling like you are dressing for fall. I was so excited to find this printed chiffon dress in exactly the color I was looking for and also love the pretty floral print, ruffles & overall retro vibe. It’s a great dress for layering and would also look good worn over jeans or high boots.

I wore this Band Of Gypsies long sleeve dress with my Zara moto jacket & added my new black Sam Edelman suede boots, pink suede Monserat de Luca fringe bag, Prada sunglasses & a Topshop velvet choker.

I love wearing boots with dresses and these have a great block heel that is really comfortable for stomping around the city and would also look great with either jeans or dresses. I like how the jacket and boots add a bit of toughness to an otherwise feminine look.

Zoe

Berry Chiffon Dress and Vintage Suede Boots for Fall

I was excited to find this purple wine-berry colored chiffon dress at Buffalo Exchange just as I was working on the “Bohemian Deluxe” trend for the blog. It just jumped out at me among all the dresses on the rack because of the gorgeous color, long sleeves & ruffle details that perfectly match the Bohemian Deluxe meets Jimi Hendrix inspired trend for FW16. It was even more of a score to find that it was just my size! Gotta love the thrill of the hunt that is “vintage/ consignment” shopping……I love the dress because it’s a bit feminine and girly but not too too girly when paired with my vintage Marc Jacobs boots & favorite rock n roll bohemian Marisa Mason jewelry. I always like the mix of something feminine with something a little bit edgier & cool and I love styling and reworking my favorite things already in my closet and giving them an update with something new (or vintage)…. Just because fashion trends keeps on changing doesn’t mean you have to let go of all your old favorites. Sometimes you just need a few new pieces to pair with your existing favorites to get excited about a new look….

GUCCI ready to wear FALL WINTER 2016

THE LOOK  #10- Pretty Edgy-Rockin’ Romance

Fall always seems like a good time to get a little tougher with what you are wearing…..think boots, leather jackets & heavy metal details on your accessories. But there’s another side to this fall season that’s just simply romantic. If you are like me and still holding on to that summer mood, you might want to make that transition to an autumn look filled with feminine details, ruffled blouses, lace fabrics and long flowing dresses……

These are the perfect looks to mix with some tougher pieces you probably already have in your closet. Go pretty and edgy by mixing a ruffled blouse with a motorcyle jacket, ripped jeans and boots. Or pair a long flowing dress with a studded jacket. Think leather and lace……and spiked metal with pink…….

I love this romantic but rock n roll feeling for creating an effortless personal style for the fall season.

ALL THE INSPIRATION YOU NEED FOR YOUR 90’S STYLE WARDROBE- THE INSPIRATION #6-“Like Teen Spirit”

So….that 90’s feeling has been in the air lately….you see in on television, in music and in fashion. From 90’s Icon Winona Ryder starring in the hit sci-fi  Netflix show “Stranger Things”….

And continuing with some of the current street style pics from NY Fashion Week, I think it’s safe to say….the 90’s are back!

Street style shots from NY Fashion Week 2016

Some people hated the style of the 90’s and some people loved it, but from Grunge to Glam to Baby doll Rock n Roll, there’s a fun & modern way to bring back the style of the & keep it looking cool & fresh……

There’s nothing like the grey sky and cool air of fall to get you in the mood for something a little bit darker, tougher & stronger…..& to channel the vibes from the Pacific Northwest, where some of the most well known grunge bands originated.

I also love the whole 90’s baby doll rock n’ roll look of Courtney Love from Hole & the way she mixed a little dress with fishnets, dark lipstick, smudged eyeliner and a cool guitar.

The Look # 9- Grunge Meets Glam

The fall season is upon us & I’m looking forward to cooler temperatures. I’m loving a lot of the fall 2016 fashion trends, but I’m especially excited about the 90’s trend that’s been emerging lately. One of my favorite time periods in fashion history is the early 90’s when Anna Sui had her first runway show, Marc Jacobs creating his “Grunge” collection for Perry Ellis and a young Kate Moss burst onto the scene.

I loved Kate Moss’s effortless personal style & feminine but rock and roll spirit.  I also loved the rich colors, fabrics, prints & jewelry of the early 90’s that are just as inspirational today as they were back then.

I’m so looking forward to wearing animal prints, velvet, plaid & washed out denim this fall. Also love the look of dreamy flowing chiffon print dresses & tops with motorcycle boots.

Here’s some outfit inspiration for a 90’s inspired look for this Fall season…………..

BLOGGER STYLE: Last Days of Summer

All summer I couldn’t get enough of wearing off the shoulder tops & dresses while exploring my new hometown : New York City ! Here is one of my favorite looks from this summer season that I posted on Instagram.

I wore this outfit in Brooklyn at Afro Punk Fest. It was a super hot & sunny day at the outdoor music festival but a day filled with great music, inspiring people and loving, creative energy!

I cant seem to get enough of the off the shoulder look and this top was no exception. I like the simple styling with a pop of bold color & the crochet lace fabric.

I love the vibe and details of this off the shoulder top and the way it works well with simple denim cutoffs & a red lip & manicure. I can’t wait to wear it again this fall with black jeans & boots.
